Fast to cook and seriously satisfying, it’s ideal for busy nights, easy lunches or whenever you’re craving something bold.

Ingredients

Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Gochujang paste or chilli flakes
  • 1 ½ cups uncooked rice (best with medium grain rice)
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 brown onion, finely diced
  • 500g beef mince
  • 3 cups crunchy noodle slaw kit

Optional Ingredients:

  • Kimchi
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine all sauce ingredients, mix well and set aside. Cook the rice according to packet instructions.
  2. Heat a large frypan over medium heat. Add sesame oil and onion, cooking for 1–2 minutes until softened.
  3. Add beef mince and cook, breaking it apart, until browned.
  4. Pour in the sauce and stir to combine. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then stir and cook for a further 2 minutes until slightly caramelised.
  5. Serve over cooked rice and top with slaw, sesame seeds and kimchi (if using).
